I've noticed that the console has been recording something about the "truth" being "vacuumed" in random times after the 10.5.5 update. I think this is mostly SyncServer-related...

iPhoto Faces Feature<br>It worked to begin with but now it only finds the named images and does not find even one image below the grey line that may also be the named person. I turned off show item counts and all other optional preferences. I annihilated all duplicates with Brattoo’s software, removed all non-JPGs, reduced from 16000 to 11000 images. I vacuumed the database with the following script: for dbase in *.db; do sqlite3 $dbase "vacuum;"; done and nothing helped, can anyone help?

While it's true that you don't have to leave the Faces mode to set names, you might find that iPhoto doesn't always catch every match. You might have to go back to your collection and manually create face rectangles on people that should obviously be a match. Not sure why it hiccups on some pictures but nonetheless if you are sure that some pics are missing from Faces then comb through your collection and check.

Actually, I just discovered that you don't have to leave the Faces mode once you're in it. Do'h. That's much better. :)

Is there a keyboard shortcut for the Name button? That would speed up the process of going through a large number of photos considerably.

Sorry about that! We're still putting this site together at a feverish pace while posting great content. Sharing through Digg and other social media services has been added and Facebook Connect should now work. Thanks for your feedback and understanding!
